About the event

Join us as Julian presents a fascinating overview of Sheila Waters’ “second” career in the USA, the rise of Washington Calligraphers Guild and other calligraphy societies, and how some other international calligraphers made a difference. Through her training, her work, teaching and writing, Sheila changed calligraphy in the USA, and the USA changed her, as her work became freer, while retaining her character and discipline. Julian also will show how Sheila methodically tackled complicated calligraphy projects through many stages, from rough designs to final art.
