Italic calligraphy is one of the most beautiful and versatile styles of calligraphy, but it takes time to master. In this workshop with Cora Pearl, professional calligrapher and college level instructor of Calligraphy and Hand Lettering, we will delve into the nuances of the Italic hand and break down each letter, stroke by stroke using a broad edge nib. In this 6-week workshop (Wednesdays, Jan.14 through Feb.18, 2026 on Zoom, 6:30-9:30pm ET), we will review and analyze the construction of each letter, learning about letter families and qualities common to each letter group. We will end this series of classes with a project to tie together everything we have learned.
