A touch of gold adds greater visual interest and dazzle to your writing, whether a simply addressed envelope, a poem, an important award or a holiday card.
Join us in person to explore the numerous materials available to impart some quality of illumination to our work. We sample six simple methods of applying gold leaf to both raised and flat areas of the paper. We experiment with gold and bronze powders, and we try various kinds of metallic watercolors, gouache, pencils, and glitter. Students receive a chart with 32 squares to be filled with the different mediums, creating a ready-reference sheet for use in their home studios. Each student will receive sample vials of Ormoline, Instacol, Miniatum Size, Miniatum Ink, Liquitex Gesso, and Speedball Metal Adhesive (a separate materials fee of $15 to be paid directly to the instructor will cover these sample vials).
