About the event
Our lettering endeavours offer us the opportunity to express words we choose and add multiple dimensions to that expression. During this workshop Connie will demonstrate how to tie together our Italic calligraphy and watercolor blooms, creating a reflection of the season around us. In this 3-session workshop, students can create a lively variation to the italic hand and explore some florals to add to projects. Along with developing the italic hand to create visual interest, we will focus on ways to combine text and elements of design resulting in a harmonious coming together of florals and words.
The workshop will cover a variation of Italic; 2-3 different types of flowers and the techniques involved; and how to incorporate lettering with the floral images.
Students will learn techniques to create contrast and visual interest. Connie’s loose and free-form style is a no-pressure approach to painting and is suitable for all levels.
