Mike Kecseg shares art from his calligraphic career, beginning as an engrosser, to opening his own calligraphy studio, to developing into a contemporary lettering artist. The master penman caps his presentation with a demonstration of his modern pointed pen script with pen manipulations.

What’s it like, as a lettering artist, to work in what is considered an extinct profession but also try to do work that is relevant today? In this 90-minute presentation, Mike Kecseg will talk about what it was like working in an engrossing studio, then in 1984 starting his own engrossing business Pen Graphics Studio Inc while at the same time learning to be a modern-day calligrapher. The master penman caps his presentation with a demonstration of his modern pointed pen script with pen manipulations.
About Michael Kecseg: Mike has been on the faculty of thirteen International Calligraphy Conferences and five IAMPETH conferences. He has taught workshops throughout the country specializing in the pointed pen.
