Susan MentisThe "Orange you glad to hear me? I’ve been busy" envelope featured here was created by artist Susan Mentis, fulfilling the 2022 Graceful Envelope Contest theme "Greetings and Salutations." The envelope successfully made it through the Canadian and US postal services to the Guild’s PO Box. The seeds of her artwork began with a postage stamp honoring Eleanor Collins, Canada’s first lady of jazz.

You can see a life-size reproduction of her envelope, along with the original entry, in the storefront window (r) of Penny Post (1201 King St, Alexandria, VA 22314) through mid-August. Additional adult entries hang in the shop window and the back of the shop (below). One artist will receive the "People’s Choice" award based upon patron entries. Please stop by to vote!

Penny Post AlexandriaThe store carries calligraphy supplies, stationery and super fun/unique cards & gifts so you can shop while you peruse the envelopes. Check out the post on the guild’s Instagram page

All entries will be judged in October with winners announced in November.
